CURLEW AT BATTERY POINT on the edge of the saltmarsh at Portishead in the Severn Estuary - a favourite haunt for curlew.

This painting won the Founders award at the 2011 TWASI (The Wildlife Art Society International) annual exhibition.

BRIDGWATER BAY a view from Steart looking across to Burnham lighthouse. This is a collage of Christmas cards and watercolour evoking the movement of the sea and waders.

CANADA REFLECTIONS in Portishead Marina. In the winter the marina is a regular haunt for Canada Geese and I love the reflections of the birds and the surrounding buildings.

DUSK FLIGHT shows geese landing on the edge of the saltmarsh at dusk.

PEREGRINE AT STEART inspired by a visit to Steart on Bridgwater Bay in the Bristol Channel. On a high spring tide wading birds are pushed up by the tide close to the bird hides giving a fantastic view of the curlew, redshank and dunlin and on this occasion a peregrine falcon joined the throng. A very busy scene but that is how I remember it.

BEWICK SWAN seen at the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust at Slimbridge on the Severn Estuary. What started off as a simple watercolour study ended up as a bold collage using recycled Christmas cards and fabric. Great fun to do!
